Some things aren’t written.
They arrive.
This one came all at once. A one shot recording at the piano, no edits.
I called it Eclipse the moment I listened back.
I was enchanted by the total eclipse we had just had. This was in 2017.
It held awe, questions, longing, openness, possibility and a shift in perspective.
This week, under another eclipse, I re-recorded it, in a studio in San Jose I had never been to, but boasted a Steinway grand and Neumann mics. IYKYK.
I pieced together a slideshow for you, layered with my own artwork and scraps of memory.
This is part of Documented Healing. My way of showing what it looks like to create through feeling, memory, and presence.
